Many of our friends in the offshore business will remember Marty Klein, the founder of Klein Associates and developer of the first sidescanning sonar. Marty sold his business a few years ago to OYO Corp. who recently resold it to L3 Corp. C. A. Richards & Assoc., Inc. represented Klein Assoc. for 18 years and along the way developed a strong and friendly relationship with Marty. Marty now has some free time to devote to his favorite hobby “Bonsai”, and I thought it would be nice to post a picture of one of his prize Bonsai trees for all to admire. It is called bonsasi pine forest named “Sensei” (teacher) in honor of his first bonsai teacher. Marty tells me he is not as active in the Ocean business anymore but makes an occasional MTS meeting and is still on the MIT Sea Grant Advisory Board. Some of us pass through a phase in life that may mean a red Porsche, Marty has taken up one of his childhood hobbies of model railroading. That sounds like fun to me. So relax and take a look at “Sensei” and if you are inclined to do so, drop Marty an email at <nielk@aol.com>
